Essential Pre-Recording Checklist for Guests
As we prepare for your episode recording, we've put together a few tips to help ensure a smooth and successful recording session:
Familiarize Yourself with the Podcast
Take some time to listen to a few recent episodes of the DevReady Podcast to get a feel for the format, style, and topics we typically cover. This will help you understand the flow of the conversation and how you can best contribute.
Listen to EpisodesPrepare Your Talking Points
Think about the key points you'd like to discuss during the episode. What insights, experiences, or lessons do you want to share with our audience? Jot down some notes to keep handy during the recording.
Test Your Equipment
Ensure your microphone, headphones, and internet connection work properly before the recording session. It's essential to have clear audio for the best listener experience. Wear wired headphones for the best audio quality. For headphones with mics attached, ensure the mic is not selected as input in the lobby.
Test Your MicTechnical Setup
- Close all unnecessary tabs and apps and disable VPNs before joining the recording.
- Use an up-to-date Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge browser, as other browsers will not create local recordings.
- Ensure you are not in Incognito mode.
- Give your Chrome/Edge browser access to your mic/camera and screen sharing.
- Remember to select the right mic & camera before you enter the studio.
Arrive Early
Please log in to the recording platform a few minutes before our scheduled start time to ensure everything is set up correctly and to address any last-minute issues. Keep your studio tab open until the recording is complete; you can leave the call, but closing the tab will pause the upload.
